WCA Launches Aramean Development Fund: Growing Roots to Build a Future in the Homeland

The Aramean Development Fund (ADF) is a WCA initiative. It is dedicated to supporting Arameans in Turabdin, Southeast Türkiye, but also in Iraq and Lebanon. Our mission is to provide or assist in securing financial support, either through grants or interest-free loans, making sure they can live and thrive in their native land. We aim to strengthen our local communities, encourage Arameans abroad to return home and rebuild their birthplace, and safeguard the future of the Aramean people, language and heritage in their ancestral homeland.

Critical Requirement: Business Model
Every project application must include a clear business model!

• Profit Projection: Detailed estimates of expected profits.
• Revenue Generation: Outline of how the project plans to earn money.
• Repayment Plan: Clear strategy on how and when the interest-free loan will be returned.
• Donated Projects: D
epending on the type of projects, especially those related to agriculture, some applications may be granted as donations instead of interest-free loans.

Here are the project types that align closely with our vision and hence receive our preference:

1. Community Strengthening:
Projects aimed at enhancing the financial stability and prosperity of Arameans to encourage them to stay in or return to their homeland. This includes endeavors that create job opportunities or foster community development.
2. Cultural Heritage & Tourism:
Initiatives that promote Aramean history, traditions, and heritage through tourism. Think of setting up heritage centers, organizing cultural tours, or curating Aramean artifacts exhibitions.
3. Language Preservation:
Ventures that focus on the teaching, preservation, and promotion of the Aramaic language. From setting up language schools to developing digital language resources or organizing language workshops.
4. Agriculture:
Projects that tap into the rich, fertile lands of our homeland. Emphasis on sustainable and organic farming methods, exploring export opportunities, or reviving traditional Aramean agricultural practices.
5. Innovation:
Ideas that bring innovative solutions to local challenges. While technological innovations are welcome, we are equally interested in social, educational, and community-based innovations that make a significant impact.
6. General Business Ventures:
Startups or businesses that might not directly link to cultural or community aspects, but can bring economic prosperity to the Aramean community, such as retail, services, or manufacturing enterprises.

Eligibility Note:
Only individuals living more than six (6) months a year in the Aramean homeland are eligible to apply for funding.

We invite applicants to think creatively, passionately, and purposefully. But remember, a clear business model should be prioritized and clarified. Your project could be the next big step in securing a vibrant future for the Aramean community in the land of our ancestors.
